Volcanic ash monitoring
Objective:Detect volcanic ash from images of the ABI sensor on board the GOES-East satellite for Popocatépetl, which allows us to perform monitoring every 5 minutes and provide information on the extent of ash plumes, useful for civil protection and aviation risk.
